A ball rolls down an slope, and continues to roll horizontally when it reaches the bottom. How is the stopping distance related to the friction between the ball and the surface? |
| Set the friction coefficient k with the arrow keys and release the ball with Start button. Measure the stopping distance S in the simulation window, and graph S as a function of k in the bottom window. Larger values of k correspond to more friction, and so k = 0 implies frictionless movement. |
