| Company Profile |
Established in 1988 by Dr. Philip Slobodsky, HALOMDA is a private company dedicated to developing of educational software in Physics and Math.
The
company's
leading concept is to produce teaching means combining open
simulative environment with intelligent responses
and full guidance for the student.
The
programs are designed for both formal classes and self-learners,
and serve as complete educational frameworks in specific subjects. The programs
exist in two versions: CD and Internet-based.
The company's staff of 5 software engineers and 2 teaching oriented scientists work hand-in-hand with programmers (3 Ph.D.’s and 4 M.Sc.’s as a team abroad), software engineers and pedagogic consultants in order to develop the programs.
Halomda
is the main supplier of sophisticated
Physics and Math programs to the Israeli school market, and the only supplier of
such programs to the private market.
Halomda
has developed 38
Math and Physics programs based on unique program generators, also
developed by the company. The programs are currently used in more than 250
junior and high schools, as well as thousands of homes in 5 countries in the
world.
The
content of the programs covers the most subjects of the standard Math and
Physics curriculums. The development platform (program generators) allows simple
translation to any language and compilation of new subjects.
Another
direction of the company’s activity is development of the concept, tools and
content for a Virtual
Math and Physics School, all based
on Math-XPress -
The Universal Math Tool, combining the features of Intelligent
Formula, Graph and Geometry Editor, Electrical Circuits Drawer, and Algebraic
Symbolic Calculator, enabling editing of any mathematical expression
and its further detailed solution in a form of consequent steps.
This unique program provides teachers and student with the powerful tool allowing editing and solving in details of every Math exercise.
The Physics Course of Halomda consists of 10 titles in Mechanics, Optics, Electricity, Magnetism and Waves, and it is based on interactive simulations of the Physics experiments. Many of them have been rewritten to the form of Java applets, enabling their use in the Internet environment.
